Polkadot AssetHub Hackathon is first of its kind hybrid hackathon scheduled on the occasion of the upcoming Hub launch which lower the entry barrier and opens up the opportunities for solidity developers to enter the Polkadot ecosystem more natively than ever before!

This hackathon provides a unique opportunity to pioneer applications at the intersection of EVM's developer experience and Polkadot's interoperable ecosystem. AssetHub serves as a critical component in the Polkadot ecosystem, enabling efficient management of both fungible and non-fungible assets, now with a multi-dimensional programability layer for the first ever time. Join the forefront of blockchain innovation during the landmark Hub launch!

⚙️ Technical Focus: PolkaVM & AssetHub

Participants will work with PolkaVM, allowing Solidity contracts to run natively within the Polkadot ecosystem. AssetHub provides an exquisite experience for creating, managing, and using both fungible and non-fungible assets. This powerful combination enables developers to build applications with:

• Familiar Solidity development tools while exploring Polkadot's diverse ecosystem
• Faster compilation times due to RISC-V register machine
• Reduced Word Size and future-proofing approach
• Multi-Dimensional Gas
• More than 4x times the limit for the code size compared to standard EVMs (24kb vs 100kb, which can be further increased in the future)

⏳ Phases & Structure: The Journey to Villa Calangute, Goa

The hackathon follows a two-stage format designed to identify and nurture the most promising projects:

Phase 1: The Online Innovation Arena (Starts: May 30th | Duration: 1 Week)

• Platform: Right here on DoraHacks!
• Participation: Open to everyone, globally! Form your teams or go solo. Maximum team size is 4.
• Challenge: Develop innovative projects that utilize the unique capabilities of Pallet-Revive on AssetHub.
• Lifelines: Hackathon Bible, Mini-workshops & On-demand Mentoring
• Goal: Build a functional prototype/MVP and submit your project by the deadline.

Phase 2: The Offline Grand Finale - Goa (Exclusive | Starts: June 14th | Duration: 2 Days)

• Qualification: Only the Top 12-15 teams from the online phase will earn their spot.
• Location: The luxurious Villa Calangute, Goa, India. Prepare for an inspiring and focused environment.
• Perks: This is an all-inclusive, fully sponsored experience for qualifying teams. We cover your stay and food! (The attendees will need to manage their travel to/from the location.)
• Experience: Intensive final development, mentorship opportunities, networking with peers and Polkadot experts, final project pitching, and the ultimate winner announcement in a stunning setting. This is where connections are forged and legends are made!
