Introduction

Welcome to Somnia Data Streams Mini Hackathon, a global, online event taking place from November 4th to November 15th, 2025.

The Somnia Data Streams Mini Hackathon  invites developers and builders to explore Somnia Data Streams, a breakthrough in blockchain data infrastructure.

SDS (Somnia Data Streams) is a new SDK and protocol that turns on-chain data into live, structured, and reactive streams. Instead of waiting for updates or relying on oracles, developers can now get instant data directly from the blockchain.

Devs can now build apps that react as things happen on-chain.For example games that update instantly, DeFi protocols that respond to market changes, dashboards that always stay in sync, and much more.

This hackathon is a chance to experiment, prototype, and show what’s possible when on-chain data becomes live and composable

The winners projects would be used for showcasing different use cases of Somnia Data Streams.

Timeline

• Registration Opens: Now
• Hackathon Kickoff: November 4, 2025 (00:00 UTC)
• Submission Window: November 4– November 15, 2025

Prizes

• 300$ worth SOMI tokens to each winner project.
• Winner projects will be utilized for showcasing Somnia Data Streams. Developers are encouraged to continue building and become eligible for additional Ecosystem support.

Track

There is one open track.Projects must integrate Somnia Data Streams SDK to build a functional prototype that uses reactive, structured, or streaming data in a meaningful way.

Submission Requirements

• Public GitHub Repo link with a Read Me file explaining how SDS was used.
• Working Web3 dApp deployed on Somnia Testnet.
• Demo video (3-5 min)

Workshop and Mentorship

During the hackathon, the Somnia team and guest mentors will host:

• Intro to Data Streams SDK Workshop
• Live Office Hours for debugging and feedback on Discord

Judging criteria

• Technical Excellence - Is the project functional, stable, and well-implemented using Data Streams SDK?
• Real-Time UX - Does it leverage the real time feature of Data Streams effectively?
• Somnia Integration - Is it Deployed on Somnia Testnet?
• Potential Impact - Does it have potential to evolve into a real product or ecosystem contribution?
