x402 Stacks Challenge

Welcome to the x402 Stacks Challenge—a week-long online hackathon running from February 9 to February 16, 2026. Organized by the Stacks Labs team and x402 Stacks, this event spotlights the transformative open payment standard x402-stacks, which leverages HTTP 402 and the Stacks blockchain for payments.

The hackathon is public and global, focused on catalyzing creative, impactful use cases around x402-stacks. Whether you’re a seasoned blockchain developer, a Web3 enthusiast, or passionate about reimagining digital monetization, this event is your gateway to contributing to the evolution of open payments.

Goal: Drive adoption of x402-stacks, unveil new monetization models, and expand the Stacks ecosystem by inspiring builders to create functional MVPs addressing real-world needs.

We encourage hackers to think bold: build tools, APIs, content platforms, agents, moltbots or developer resources. Show how x402-stacks can unlock new possibilities and lower barriers for digital value exchange.

Prize: A total of $3,000 USD is up for grabs, with the total prize being awarded to the most innovative and practical solution.

Submission Requirements

Your submission must include:

• A public GitHub repository with your source code
• A working demo (can be a hosted site, live API, or screencast)
• A brief video (max 5 minutes) explaining the project, use case, and integration with x402-stacks

General Rules:

• Teams or solo participants are welcome.
• Projects must integrate x402-stacks and leverage HTTP 402 functionality.
• All code must be open source and submitted before the deadline.
• No previously published or commercialized projects.
