Your Mission
As a Software Engineer working on Bitpanda’s flagship broker platform, you'll drive the evolution of one of Europe’s leading investing and trading experiences. You’ll architect and deliver highly-performant, secure, and scalable systems that support everything from everyday investing to advanced crypto and trading features. Your decisions will shape how millions of users interact with digital assets; helping make complex financial products feel simple, fast, and trustworthy.
What you’ll do
- Design and maintain scalable Java backend services and APIs using frameworks like Spring or Micronaut.
- Develop and support high-performance GraphQL and RESTful APIs for our core trading platform.
- Drive technical reliability by writing clean, well-tested code and upholding rigorous engineering best practices.
- Work cross-functionally to define technical solutions and mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Own system scalability and reliability through proactive monitoring, profiling, and architectural contributions.
Who you are
- Proven track record in Java and modern frameworks, with experience delivering large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in designing and maintaining GraphQL and RESTful APIs within high-traffic production environments.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, specifically using Kafka, ksqlDB, and AWS SQS.
- Proficient in AWS ecosystem tools, including containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes.
- Experienced with observability and analytics tools such as Datadog to ensure system health and performance.
