About the Role

WHY CONTROL EXISTS

Most crypto wallets are built for traders. Control is not.

Control is a private custody platform for digital wealth — built for families and individuals who think in generations, not market cycles. We are building the infrastructure where people entrust their digital legacy: multi-chain assets secured, organized, and accessible for the long term.

This is not another DeFi dashboard or exchange wrapper. This is digital wealth custody — where the bar for trust, reliability, and craftsmanship is measured in decades, not sprints.

WHY NOW

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to own the production web application end-to- end. You will be the primary frontend engineer on the team, working closely with the CTO and a full-stack engineer building the backend platform and APIs.

The interface layer of a custody platform is where complexity meets trust. Your users are managing real wealth across multiple blockchains — signing transactions, reviewing portfolios, organizing assets they intend to hold for decades. Every loading state, every confirmation flow, every edge case carries weight. Your work will determine whether Control feels like a place people trust with their financial legacy.

📐💼📍

We are rebuilding Control from the ground up. The v1 platform proved the market. Now we are constructing v2 as a greenfield product — new architecture, new stack, new standards. This is the rarest kind of engineering opportunity: a product with real users and real market validation, but with the technical freedom of a blank canvas.

This is a role defined by craft and ownership, not tickets. You will shape the UI/UX, define the frontend architecture, build the design system, and ship every user-facing feature directly to production.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Own the React frontend end-to-end: architecture, feature delivery, performance, and polish.

Collaborate closely with design to translate Figma files into high-quality, production-ready interfaces.

Own and evolve the design system and shared component library — building reusable foundations that scale.

Integrate with Dynamic.xyz for multi-chain wallet connectivity across EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and future networks.

Build transaction signing flows, real-time balances, portfolio dashboards, and asset- management experiences that make complex blockchain operations feel simple and trustworthy.

Connect the frontend to the Node.js / TypeScript API with real blockchain-backed operations.

Build and maintain reusable frontend patterns, standards, and implementation conventions for a codebase designed to last.

Write E2E tests with Playwright and component tests with Jest + React Testing Library.

Set up frontend observability, error tracking, and analytics.

Partner with the mobile engineer to keep the web and iOS experiences aligned.

Leverage AI tools as a daily force multiplier — for code generation, component scaffolding, testing, and problem-solving. At Control, AI is infrastructure, not a novelty.

Contribute to architectural and product decisions as a senior voice on a small team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required

10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of technical leadership and frontend ownership.

8+ years building production React applications with TypeScript.

Product vision and user-centric thinking — you don't wait for a PM to tell you what matters. You develop a point of view on what the product should be, you advocate for the user in every technical decision, and you proactively identify opportunities to improve the experience. You see yourself as a product engineer who happens to work on the frontend, not a frontend engineer who occasionally thinks about the product.

Strong grasp of crypto UX challenges: transaction states, gas estimation, address validation, network switching, signing flows, and the trust dynamics unique to custody products.

Deep knowledge of modern frontend state management — Redux Toolkit, React Query / TanStack Query.

Experience with Vite, TailwindCSS, and modern React patterns (Server Components awareness, concurrent features, composition patterns).

Strong UI craft and product instinct — you care about detail, trust signals, loading states, edge cases, error recovery, and responsive behavior.

Comfortable working directly from Figma and contributing product and UX feedback — not just executing designs, but improving them.

Experience building and maintaining a design system in production. Experience writing automated tests across unit, integration, and E2E layers.

Comfortable owning features end-to-end and operating autonomously in a small, remote team.

Highly Valued

Production experience building interfaces for blockchain, cryptocurrency, or fintech applications — wallets, custody platforms, exchanges, DeFi dashboards, or wealth management products. Candidates with direct crypto or fintech backgrounds will be strongly preferred.

Experience with Dynamic.xyz, WalletConnect, or similar wallet connectivity infrastructure. Familiarity with Node.js / TypeScript APIs — enough to navigate the backend, understand

data contracts, and unblock yourself. Experience with Playwright for E2E testing.

Understanding of EIP-712 signing, transaction lifecycle, and multi-chain wallet architecture.

Experience with NFT interfaces and smart contract interactions — displaying NFT collections, metadata rendering, minting UX, or contract-driven UI flows.

Familiarity with AWS and how frontend applications interact with cloud-hosted services and CI/CD pipelines.

Active use of AI development tools as part of your daily workflow — not as an experiment, but as standard practice. You build custom AI workflows, integrate AI into your development pipeline, and continuously push what's possible.

Experience in private banking, wealth management, or high-trust product design where the UX carries fiduciary weight.

Who Thrives Here

You see yourself as a product engineer first. You develop a vision for what the experience should be and you fight for it.

You believe that great frontend engineering is the difference between a product people tolerate and a product people trust with their wealth.

You are drawn to the idea of building something that lasts — interfaces that families rely on for decades.

You default to action. You ship, you iterate, you own the outcome.

You treat AI as a collaborator. You actively push the boundaries of how AI tools can improve your engineering output.

You obsess over the details that most engineers skip — the micro-interactions, the error states, the moments where a user decides whether to trust the product.

You are energized by greenfield work and the responsibility that comes with defining the frontend from scratch.

WHAT WE OFFER

Fully remote — work from anywhere.
Greenfield architecture — you are not inheriting a legacy frontend, you are building the

definitive one.

Small team, real ownership — you are the primary frontend engineer. Your architecture decisions, your design system, your standards.

A mission worth building for — custody infrastructure for digital wealth that people trust across generations.

AI-native engineering culture — AI tools are embedded in how we work, not bolted on as an afterthought.

Competitive compensation commensurate with Staff-level experience and impact.
