Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions. This role requires deep expertise in ETL architecture, data modeling, and data integration, along with the ability to mentor others and drive best practices across the data platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable ETL pipelines integrating data from multiple internal and external sources
- Own end-to-end data workflows, from requirements analysis to deployment and operational support
- Design, maintain, and govern enterprise data models using tools such as erwin
- Develop and optimize advanced data integration solutions using Talend
- Ensure high standards of data quality, reliability, performance, and security
- Identify and resolve complex data issues, performance bottlenecks, and operational risks
- Define and promote best practices for ETL development, data modeling, documentation, and version control
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level data engineers
- Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic objectives
Required Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience in data engineering and ETL development
- Strong hands-on experience with Talend
- Proven expertise in data modeling and metadata management using erwin
- Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of relational database concepts
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouses and large-scale data platforms
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance requirements
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD practices for data pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
- Exposure to cloud data platforms and modern data architectures is a strong plus
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and production support in mission-critical environments
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex initiatives
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
