Job Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize data platforms that support large-scale analytics and insight generation across the media and technology landscape. This role focuses on developing reliable data integration pipelines, managing high-performance data warehouses, and ensuring strong data governance and performance across multiple database technologies.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in modern data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Redshift, along with experience building ETL pipelines and maintaining scalable data infrastructure. This role requires an independent engineer capable of delivering production-ready solutions while collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to power data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration workflows supporting analytics and reporting systems.
Develop and optimize data warehouse solutions across platforms such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Redshift.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt or SSIS to integrate and transform large datasets.
Implement database performance tuning strategies including query optimization, indexing, and warehouse resource optimization.
Manage database security and governance through user management, roles, and access controls.
Implement automated scripts and validation processes to enforce data integrity and cleansing based on business rules.
Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines and warehouse environments to ensure reliability and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, QA, and operations to deliver scalable data solutions.
Support deployment and maintenance of data solutions in production environments.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
Advanced knowledge of modern data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Redshift.
Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt or SSIS.
Expertise in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization across data warehouse platforms.
Solid understanding of database design, backup strategies, data security, and performance optimization.
Experience managing user access, roles, and permissions within enterprise data platforms.
Strong knowledge of data pipeline architecture and automation strategies.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high productivity and quality.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Self-motivated mindset with strong problem-solving and independent working capabilities.
